Srinagar, Mar 28 (JKNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has appointed three advocates as Law Officers in the Srinagar Wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The order, issued vide Government Order No. 3957-JK (LD) of 2026, dated March 28, 2026, as per news agency JKNS, designates Shabaz Sikandar Mir as Additional Advocate General, while Tariq Ahmad Lone and G.N. Sofi have been appointed as Deputy Advocate Generals.
The appointments are for a period of one year and are subject to extension based on the officers’ performance. They will be governed by previous Government Orders relating to Law Officer appointments and must submit eligibility documents as per SRO 98 of 2016.
The officers are also required to provide daily case information through the Director of Litigation Kashmir and fortnightly updates to the Law Department. Weekly advance lists of cases must be submitted every Friday or Saturday as per the prescribed proformas GC-I, GC-II, and GC-III.
