*Jammu Clinches Overall Title at 19th UT J&K Wushu Championship; 1,200 Athletes Showcase Talent*

Jammu, Mar 30 (JKNS): 19th UT J&K Wushu Championship–2025, Closing Ceremony of 19th UT J&K Wushu Championship–2025 (04 Days) at Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, Chief Guest Satish Sharma, Cabinet Minister, Government of J&K, and Guest of Honour Javeed-ul-Rehman, Divisional Sports Officer Central JKSC, attended the ceremony.

As per news agency JKNS, Bhavneet, General Secretary, Wushu Association of J&K, delivered the welcome address on the occasion. She highlighted the achievements of Wushu during 2025–26 and outlined various events. Around 1,200 players from 25 teams, including districts of UT J&K, five Khelo India Centres, and the J&K Police team, participated in the championship.

She stated that over the four days, top athletes from across the Union Territory displayed remarkable performances. She also expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for its strong support in promoting Wushu as a priority sport in the region.

Shri Satish Sharma appreciated the Wushu Association of J&K for providing a valuable platform to the youth, enabling them to excel at national and international levels and contribute to the country’s sporting future.

At the conclusion, Organising Secretary Kamal Kishor presented the vote of thanks and acknowledged the support of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, media fraternity, and J&K Police for the successful आयोजन of the championship.

Other dignitaries present included Maqsood Rather (Joint Secretary, Wushu Association of J&K), Yash Pal, Ajaz Ahmad, Lalit Singh, and various district representatives.

Results:

➢ 2nd Runner-Up: Khelo India Centre Jammu
(Gold – 9, Silver – 7, Bronze – 9) = 25 Medals

➢ Runner-Up: District Srinagar
(Gold – 12, Silver – 7, Bronze – 7) = 26 Medals

➢ Overall Winner Trophy: District Jammu
(Gold – 15, Silver – 14, Bronze – 28) = 57 Medals. (JKNS)
