Pattan, Apr 1 (JKNS): Employees associated with the National Health Mission (NHM) on Wednesday staged a protest at the premises of Trauma Hospital Pattan, voicing strong concern over salary disparities and delays in wage disbursement.
The protesting employees alleged that despite performing duties similar to other health department staff, they are being paid significantly lower wages. Raising the slogan of “equal pay for equal work,” they demanded immediate intervention from the authorities to address the disparity.
The workers also highlighted the recurring issue of delayed salaries, stating that their wages are often not released on time, causing serious financial strain on their families. They said that the uncertainty surrounding payments has led to mental stress and hardship among the staff.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, the protesters urged the government and concerned officials to take swift action. They warned that if their genuine demands are not met at the earliest, they would be compelled to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
The employees appealed to the authorities to ensure fair wages and the timely release of salaries so that they can continue their services without distress.(JKNS)
