Srinagar, Apr 2 (JKNS): In a major push towards digital governance and financial accountability, the PHQ Budget Allocation Software (PBAS) was inaugurated at PCR Kashmir by Ajay Shanker Singh, Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Home Affairs.
As per news agency JKNS, The PBAS platform has been developed to streamline the process of budget allocation, monitoring, and utilization within Police Headquarters.
The initiative marks a major advancement in adopting technology-driven solutions to enhance financial governance and operational efficiency.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officers including DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat-IPS, Spl DGP Coordination PHQ Shri S.J.M. Gillani-IPS, ADGP Headquarters J&K M.K. Sinha-IPS, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi-IPS, DIsG of Traffic, Armed Kashmir, CID Kashmir, CKR Srinagar and other senior officials attended through VC.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ajay Shanker Singh emphasized the importance of digital platforms in ensuring transparency, accuracy, and real-time financial oversight.
He noted that systems like PBAS play a crucial role in strengthening governance and optimizing the use of public resources.
DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat highlighted the significance of modern financial management systems in enhancing institutional efficiency and accountability within the police organization.
A detailed presentation and live demonstration of the PBAS software was delivered by Shakeel Maqbool ICAS-IFA J&K, who outlined its key features and functionalities.
He stated that the implementation of PBAS aligns with the broader vision of digital transformation and will facilitate efficient planning, allocation, and monitoring of budgetary resources while minimizing delays and manual errors.
On the occasion, DGP J&K presented a memento to Dr. Ajay Shanker Singh as a token of appreciation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by ADGP Headquarters J&K M.K. Sinha, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their presence and support in the successful launch of the initiative. (JKNS)
