Srinagar, Apr 2 (JKNS): Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday participated in the traditional Zool Festival (Festival of Lights) at the revered shrine of Sakhi Zainuddin Wali at Aishmuqam in Pahalgam on the eve of the annual Urs, joining thousands of devotees in the spiritual gathering.
Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today participated in the Zool Festival (Festival of Lights) at the famous shrine of Sakhi Zainuddin Reshi (RA) at Aishmuqam in Pahalgam on the eve of the annual Urs of the saint.
The Zool Festival is organised here as a permanent auspicious event in commemoration of the centuries-old tradition. Andrabi joined thousands of devotees in the festival.
She paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace and prosperity for all.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Andrabi said that light signifies purity and devotion, which wipes off the darkness of the soul, and such meaningful traditions need to continue with fervour and dignity.
She congratulated the people on Urs Mubarak.
Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Administrator Ashiq Ahmad, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, AEEs Syed Murtaza and Aamir Ahmad, and social activists Arshad Bhat, Rehmat Bhat, Javed Ahmad, Sofi Sajad and Tassaduq Ahmad also accompanied the Waqf Chairperson. (JKNS)
