Srinagar, Apr 3 (JKNS): Chief of the All India Imam Organization, Dr Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, on Friday praised the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board for its reform-oriented initiatives, stating that the institution has emerged as a model of efficient and transparent functioning under the leadership of Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi.
As per news agency JKNS, Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the Head of All India Imam Organization (AIIO) on Friday visited Central Office of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board where he addressed a Presser in which Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi also participated.
Dr Ilyasi said that after unfortunate Pahalgam incident, J&K has again established a peaceful and hospitable environment and he was happy to see the love and warmth of the local people for all tourists and visitors.
Chief Imam said that after 2019, we witnessed a new peaceful and aspiring Jammu & Kashmir due to the vision of the Prime Minister Modiji. “Waqf Board under Dr Andrabi symbolises positive changes in J&K after 2019 and his transformative works are inspiring and are in sync with the broader developmental roadmap of the PM for the people of J&K”, said Dr Ilyasi.
Waqf Chairperson informed Dr Imam Ilyasi that J&K Waqf Board became the first in India to not only streamline the monthly remuneration to Imams & Khateebs into regular salaries and also increased it manifold as we believe that their responsibilities are very important in leading not only the collective prayers but also inculcating positivity and compassion among the people following them.
Dr Ilyasi apprecited the reformative decisions of Dr Andrabi for making J&K Waqf Board a true success story. Prominent Imams & Khateebs of Waqf Board & the Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin was also present. (JKNS)
