JKNS DESKSrinagar, Apr 8 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the dismissal of two Jammu and Kashmir government employees over their alleged involvement with terror outfits, as part of the administration’s ongoing “zero-tolerance to terror” policy, sources said.

The action has been taken under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, which allows termination without inquiry in the interest of state security. The move is part of a broader drive to root out terror elements embedded within the government machinery.

Sources told news agency JKNS that, the terminated employees have been identified as Farhat Ali Khanday, a Class-IV employee in the Education Department in Ramban, and Mohammad Shafi Dar, a Class-IV staffer in the Rural Development Department from Bandipora.

Khanday was allegedly working for Hizbul Mujahideen and had been under the radar of security agencies since 2011, when his name surfaced during investigations into a hawala network linked to terror funding. Despite earlier action, he reportedly continued to maintain links with terrorist networks and acted as a conduit for terror activities, sources privy to the development told JKNS.

Sources further said that Dar was found to be working as a terror associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba and was involved in providing logistical and operational support to terrorists in Bandipora. He allegedly facilitated movement, arranged shelter, and shared sensitive information regarding security forces.

It was also learnt that Dar was apprehended in April 2025 during a joint naka, during which arms and ammunition, including an AK-56 rifle and a grenade, were recovered from his possession, sources said.

Officials said the terminations reflect the administration’s firm resolve to dismantle terror networks and ensure that individuals involved in anti-national activities are removed from public service.

Sources further said that, more than 90 government employees with terror links have been sacked so far.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has made an iron-clad promise to the people of J&K UT, every terrorist will be hunted down and eliminated, without exception and without mercy. (JKNS)
