Srinagar, July 31 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned the release of ₹41.16 lakh for completion of the LPG distributorship allotted to pellet victim Insha Mushtaq, bringing an end to a long-pending process that remained incomplete since 2018, Minister Satish Sharma announced on Thursday.
According to details, as per news agency JKNS, Satish Sharma said the LPG distributorship was sanctioned to Insha Mushtaq in 2018, but the project remained incomplete for several years.
“Justice delayed but not denied,” the Minister said while announcing the decision.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Government has now approved the release of the balance amount of ₹41.16 lakh to complete the LPG distributorship and bring the matter to its logical conclusion.
“Insha Mushtaq lost her eyesight to pellets in 2016. Her LPG distributorship was sanctioned in 2018 but remained incomplete. The present Government has now approved the pending funds so the project can finally be completed,” Sharma said.
Insha Mushtaq, a resident of Sedow village in Shopian district, lost her eyesight after being hit by pellets during the unrest that followed the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in July 2016.
Despite losing her vision, she continued her education and passed the Class 12 Board Examination in 2023, securing 319 marks out of 500, drawing widespread appreciation for her determination and resilience. (JKNS)
