Yoga Against Drugs: Bandipora Hosts Intensive Wellness Drive to Boost Recovery Under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

Bandipora, Apr 28 (JKNS): In a focused push towards rehabilitation and prevention under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a day-long yoga and physical training programme was organized at District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Bandipora, promoting holistic healing and resilience among individuals battling substance abuse.

As per news agency JKNS, a day-long comprehensive Yoga session cum Physical Training programme was successfully conducted at the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Bandipora.

The programme was organized by Department of AYUSH Bandipora in collaboration with District Drug De-Addiction Centre Bandipora, under the esteemed supervision of Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik, District Nodal Officer, Ayush, Bandipora.

The initiative formed an integral part of the ongoing 100 Days J&K Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, aimed at creating awareness and facilitating rehabilitation through healthy lifestyle practices.

The training session witnessed active participation from the beneficiaries of DDAC, who were engaged in a series of structured yoga exercises and physical training modules designed to enhance both physical fitness and mental resilience.

The session was expertly imparted by Dr.Irfan Ahamd Banday, Medical Officer and Mr. Irshad Ahmad, Yoga Instructor, whose guidance and expertise provided valuable insights into the role of yoga and disciplined physical activity in overcoming addiction and maintaining long-term wellness.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized the importance of integrating traditional wellness practices such as yoga into de-addiction programmes.

 

They highlighted that such initiatives not only aid in physical recovery but also contribute significantly to emotional stability and self-discipline among individuals undergoing rehabilitation.

 

The event concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing enthusiasm and a renewed sense of motivation towards leading a healthier, addiction-free life. The collaborative effort by the Department of AYUSH and DDAC Bandipora reflects a strong commitment towards building a drug-free society through preventive and rehabilitative measures. (JKNS)
