Anantnag, May 5 (JKNS): In a major crackdown on the narcotics ecosystem, Anantnag Police has attached immovable property worth ₹85 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the NDPS Act, further tightening its grip on the financial networks of drug trafficking.

As per news agency JKNS, Anantnag Police has taken another major action against proceeds of drug crime by attaching immovable property belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

Police Station Srigufwara, acting under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, attached one single-storeyed residential house with an estimated market value of approximately ₹85 lakhs, belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, son of Lassi Ganie, resident of Shalgam, Srigufwara.

The said accused is involved in FIR No. 72/2022 registered at Police Station Srigufwara under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Investigation had established that the attached property was acquired through illicit proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking.

Accordingly, the property has been attached as per due legal procedure under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

This action forms part of Anantnag Police’s sustained offensive against drug peddlers, kingpins, and the financial infrastructure supporting the narcotics trade. By targeting illegally acquired assets, Anantnag Police aims not only to prosecute offenders but also to dismantle the economic backbone of the drug network.

Anantnag Police reiterates its firm resolve to make the district drug-free and warns all those involved in narcotics trafficking that strict legal action, including attachment of illegally acquired properties, shall continue relentlessly. (JKNS)
