Kulgam, May 6 (JKNS): In a decisive action against the drug menace, Kulgam Police, in collaboration with the District Administration, demolished a commercial property illegally established on encroached state land in the Yaripora area of the district.
The action was taken against a repeat offender, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Tantrypora, Yaripora. Officials stated that the property, worth approximately ₹60–70 lakhs, was allegedly being used for illicit drug-related activities.
Police sources confirmed that the accused is involved in four cases registered under the NDPS Act at different police stations, reflecting his continued involvement in narcotics offences.

Terming the demolition as part of an intensified crackdown on drug networks, authorities said the move sends a strong message to those involved in narcotics trade and illegal encroachments that such activities will be dealt with firmly under law.
Kulgam Police reiterated their commitment to sustaining the anti-drug campaign and appealed to the public to extend full cooperation in eradicating the drug menace from society. (JKNS)
