Srinagar, May 6 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday inaugurated major reconstruction and beautification works at Sarbal shrine and laid the foundation for multiple development projects at Aishmuqam in south Kashmir, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to strengthening spiritual infrastructure and public facilities.

Andrabi inaugurates Reconstruction & Beautification Project of the shrine at Sarbal & lays foundation for development works at Aishmuqam in South Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today visited the Ziyarat of Sakhi Zainuddin Wali (RA) at Aishmuqam and paid obeisance there. She inspected the entire complex and took stock of the management and facilities. Waqf Board Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer of the Board Qazi Mushtaq, and other officers accompanied Dr Andrabi.

Waqf Chairperson laid the foundation for the construction of the retaining wall at the shrine. Later, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi inaugurated multiple developmental works, including the reconstruction and beautification project of the shrine of Sakhi Zainshah Wali at Sarbal. She also unveiled the developmental plaque at the shrine complex.

Speaking to media, Dr Andrabi said that the Waqf Board will continue its journey of excellence through transparent developmental projects across Jammu & Kashmir. “Sakhi Zainuddin Wali (RA) is the beacon of our spiritual Rishi tradition. The Board has undertaken massive developmental works at both these shrines and improved facilities for devotees. The developmental journey will continue,” she said.

She also thanked her critics, stating that their feedback has further strengthened her resolve for more dedicated service. “We have a clear roadmap and a broad vision. No distraction can stop us from moving ahead. Strengthening our spiritual centres with proper infrastructure and management remains our priority,” she added.

Dr Andrabi also interacted with several public delegations at both locations after the events. (JKNS)
