Meanwhile, the Office of the Chief Minister, in a post on X, said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appreciated the prompt and coordinated efforts of the Army and Civil Administration in ensuring the safe rescue of tourists from the higher reaches of Gulmarg.

The Chief Minister also directed the administration to take all necessary measures to strengthen safety protocols and ensure a safe and secure experience for tourists visiting the region.

He further stressed the need to prevent the recurrence of such incidents through improved monitoring and precautionary mechanisms, the post added. (JKNS)
