Srinagar, May 12 (JKNS): In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening the fight against drug abuse among youth, the NMBA Committee and Department of Psychology, Government College for Women (GCW) M.A. Road Srinagar, in collaboration with J&K Police, organized a parent workshop on “Identification of Early Warning Signs of Drug Abuse Among Young Girls” at the college campus.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Farooq, in her welcome address, emphasized the importance of awareness, communication, and collective responsibility in combating drug abuse among youth. The programme was anchored by Zia and Ruvaida from the “Say No to Drugs Club.”
Dr. Muzaffar Khan, Senior Consultant Clinical Psychologist, delivered an informative session highlighting the behavioral, emotional, social, and physical indicators of substance abuse and stressed the role of parents in early identification and intervention. A documentary on drug abuse awareness was also screened during the programme. The workshop witnessed active participation from parents, faculty members, and students and concluded on a positive and impactful note. (JKNS)
