CRPF Organises Closing Ceremony of Women Tailoring Programme Under Civic Action Initiative in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 20 (JKNS): The closing ceremony of a month-long Stitching and Tailoring Programme for women was organised at Marriage Hall Abi-Guzar near Masjid Ayesha, Lal Chowk Srinagar under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26.

As per news agency JKNS, The programme was organised by 132 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of IG CRPF Srinagar Sector with the objective of promoting skill development, women empowerment and self-reliance among local women.

 

Around 15 women participated in the training programme and were provided practical training in stitching and tailoring during the one-month course.

 

The event was attended by Commandant 132 Battalion CRPF W.R. Josuah, officers and personnel of the battalion, SP East Srinagar, SDPO Kothibagh, police officials from Police Stations Kothibagh and Maisuma, members of the media and people from the local community.

 

During the ceremony, certificates of completion were distributed among the trainees in recognition of their successful participation in the programme.

 

As part of the initiative, three sewing machines were also handed over to the community hall to facilitate continued training for other women and help them undertake stitching work for livelihood generation.

 

Officials said the initiative was aimed at encouraging economic independence among women and strengthening community outreach through skill-based programmes. (JKNS)
