Handwara, May 21 (JKNS): Member of Parliament from Srinagar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday appealed to Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid not to step away from politics, saying difficult times demand patience, determination and steadfastness.

Speaking to reporters, Ruhullah, as per news agency JKNS, said he had listened to Engineer Rashid’s emotional remarks during a recent condolence gathering where the latter hinted at withdrawing from electoral politics.

Ruhullah said the decision was personal, but added that people facing hardships should remain committed to their path rather than give up under pressure.

“Faith teaches us to stay steadfast and determined despite difficulties,” he said, adding that public life often tests individuals through personal and political challenges.

The Srinagar MP said Engineer Rashid had gone through immense hardships, including family issues and difficult circumstances, yet continued his political struggle with dignity.

“I can relate to his challenges and understand what he may be going through,” Ruhullah said.

Without directly naming anyone, he remarked that many people abandon public life either due to greed or pressure, but maintained that Rashid’s journey had been marked by resilience.

Urging the Baramulla MP to continue his political struggle, Ruhullah said he should remain firm and not quit politics. (JKNS)
