Srinagar, May 21 (JKNS): The closing ceremony of a month-long Stitching and Tailoring Training Programme for women was held at Marriage Hall Abi-Guzar near Masjid Ayesha, Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

The programme was organised by 132 Battalion CRPF under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 under the aegis of IG CRPF Srinagar Sector, with the aim of promoting skill development and self-reliance among women.

A total of 15 women trainees successfully completed the training programme. Certificates of completion were distributed among the participants during the event.

The ceremony was attended by Commandant 132 Bn CRPF, officers and personnel of the battalion, SP East, SDPO Kothibagh, officials from Police Stations Kothibagh and Maisuma, members of the media, and people from the local community.

To further support livelihood generation and vocational training for women, three sewing machines were also handed over to the community hall so that more women can utilise them for training and undertake stitching work in future.

The initiative was aimed at empowering women through vocational training and enhancing opportunities for sustainable livelihood in the area. (JKNS)
