*LG Manoj Sinha to Lead Mega ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat AbhiyaShopian, May 22 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is set to lead a mega Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan padyatra in Shopian on Saturday, prompting authorities to impose traffic restrictions and issue diversion plans across the district.

 

According to a traffic advisory issued by Traffic Police Rural Kashmir, as per news agency JKNS, vehicular movement from Balpora Crossing up to Old Bus Stand via Jahangir Chowk Shopian will remain completely suspended on Saturday from 4:00 AM to 3:00 PM in view of the rally and padyatra.

 

SSP traffic advised commuters to avoid unnecessary travel within Shopian town during the event and strictly follow the designated diversion routes to ensure smooth movement of traffic.

 

As per the advisory, traffic coming from Poonch and Rajouri towards Herpora, Pulwama and Srinagar will be diverted via Old Bus Stand–Tak Mohalla–Sangloo–Habdipora–Pinjura–Trenz–Pulwama–Srinagar route.

 

Similarly, vehicles moving towards Shopian, Poonch and Rajouri from Srinagar and Pulwama will be diverted through Keegam–Mispora–Udoora–Trenz–Pinjura–Habdipora–Sangloo–Tak Mohalla via Kanipora towards Herpora.

 

Authorities further stated that Pulwama-bound traffic from Shadab Karewa, Zawoora, Manloo and Narpora areas will move through Kralchak–Rajpora–Tiken–Pulwama route and vice versa.

 

Traffic Police also clarified that vehicles ferrying medical emergencies from Herpora, Imamsahib, Zainpora and Trenz areas will be allowed through Sangloo and Bonbazaar towards District Hospital Shopian.

 

The advisory has been issued in public interest for information and compliance, officials said. (JKNS)
