Rajouri, May 23 (JKNS): An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Gambhir Muglan area of Rajouri district on Saturday after contact was established during a joint intelligence-based operation.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, the White Knight Corps said that contact with terrorists was established at around 11:30 AM in the Gambhir Muglan area during a joint operation launched by the Indian Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF.
According to the post, troops responded swiftly with calibrated action after the contact, leading to an exchange of fire between the two sides.
Security forces have effectively laid a cordon around the area and operations are presently underway, the Army said.
Further details regarding the number of terrorists trapped or any casualties were awaited till the filing of this report. (JKNS)
