Karnah, Jun 2 (JKNS): Celebrating the spirit of Nari Shakti, Major General Rakesh Nair, GOC Vajr Division, felicitated women participants of the recently conducted Tithwal Day Marathon for their enthusiasm, resilience and exemplary sporting spirit during a special function held in Karnah.

Addressing the gathering, the GOC lauded the inspiring participation of women in the marathon, stating that their efforts have set a powerful example for society and would encourage greater involvement of girls and women in sports and public life across the region.

The GOC also honoured women volunteers from Amrui, Taad and Prada villages for their dedicated cleanliness drives along the Line of Control. He appreciated their selfless contribution towards promoting cleaner, healthier and more vibrant communities in the border region.

Recognising the role of media in social transformation, Maj Gen Nair commended the work of lady Radio Jockeys Injila Khanim, Salma and Anjum of Rooh-e-Karnah Community Radio. He praised their meaningful outreach programmes and positive messaging that continue to inspire and empower youth, particularly young girls, throughout Karnah.

A special mention was made of Mrs. Nashada Begum, former BDC Amrui, whose leadership and commitment have played a significant role in encouraging women and girls to actively participate in social and developmental initiatives.

Congratulating all the awardees, the GOC urged the women of Karnah to continue leading positive change through education, innovation, community service and active citizenship. He also highlighted the importance of scientific temper, curiosity and lifelong learning, encouraging the youth, especially young women, to become active partners in nation-building and the development of border areas.
