Srinagar, June 3 (JKNS): The Employees Association of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) on Wednesday voiced strong resentment over the non-conduct of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings and warned of pursuing legal remedies if long-pending employee grievances remain unresolved.
As per news agency JKNS, Meeting of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Employees Association was held today at Lalmandi, Srinagar, under the chairpersonship of President Birjees Akhtar.
The meeting discussed several long-pending issues affecting the career progression of existing employees. The members expressed deep concern over the authorities’ non-fulfillment of previous assurances.
Key issues discussed, Non-fulfillment of Assurance on DPC, Despite clear assurances made by the authorities earlier to conduct the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), no action has been taken so far. Ignoring Employees’ Voice: Employees presented their resentment over the continued ignoring of their legitimate grievances by the administration.
Retirement Without Promotion: It was highlighted that many employees have retired from service without being granted their due promotions, causing injustice and financial hardship. Absorption of Outsiders: The house noted that any move to absorb outsiders into JKAACL would adversely affect promotional opportunities for existing employees.
Request to Authorities:
The Association respectfully requests the competent authorities to, Conduct the DPC immediately to grant timely promotions to eligible employees. Refrain from the absorption of outsiders into JKAACL to protect the legitimate promotional avenues of existing employees.
Resolution adopted:
After detailed deliberations, the meeting unanimously resolved to avail all legal remedies including court action, dialogue, appeal, and representation to safeguard the interests of the employees.
Appreciation:
The house placed on record its deep appreciation for the J&K EJAC (Employees Joint Action Committee) for their continuous support and solidarity in the struggle for the legitimate rights of employees.
Oath of Commitment:
All employees present at the meeting took an oath to remain steadfast and continue this struggle by all means to achieve the objectives, and to wholeheartedly support the Employees Association.
President Birjees Akhtar affirmed that the Association will continue to pursue all appropriate and peaceful channels to ensure justice and fair promotional avenues for every JKAACL employee. (JKNS)
