Srinagar, Jun 10 (JKNS): In a unique blend of wellness, youth engagement and Kashmir’s natural beauty, Director General of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K, Anuradha Gupta, on Wednesday led a grand Yoga session at the iconic Char Chinar island in the middle of Dal Lake, urging young people to embrace Yoga as a way of life for physical fitness, mental strength and holistic development.

The mega event witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of school children representing various educational institutions across the Srinagar district. Alongside the youth, the dedicated field staff of the YSS Department also actively participated, performing a series of synchronized Yoga Asanas to promote holistic wellness.
While speaking on the occasion about the profound importance of remaining physically and mentally fit through Yoga and allied activities, DG YSS Anuradha Gupta underscored the need to adopt healthy lifestyle habits from an early age.
She emphasized that integrating daily physical activity is essential for the holistic development of the younger generation.
“Yoga is the ultimate shield for physical vitality and mental resilience in today’s world,” stated DG Anuradha Gupta.
“In an era of fast-paced lifestyles, Yoga acts as an anchor that harmonizes the mind and body. By hosting this session at the iconic Char Chinari, we want to inspire our youth to connect deeply with fitness, mindfulness, and the natural heritage of our beautiful valley.”
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Gh. Hassan Lone, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Srinagar, alongside various Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs) of the district, field officials, and physical education trainers from the department. (JKNS)
