Karnah, Jun 12 (JKNS): A Public Outreach Programme was organized at the border village of Hajitra in Karnah Sub-Division under the Government of India’s flagship Vibrant Village Programme, aimed at accelerating development and improving the quality of life in remote border areas.

The programme witnessed the participation of senior government officials, representatives of various departments, local Panchayat members, and a large number of residents from Hajitra and adjoining villages.

The event served as a platform for direct interaction between the administration and the local population, enabling villagers to raise their concerns and seek solutions to long-pending issues.

During the programme, Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL), Tariq Hussain Ganai, reviewed the status of developmental initiatives being implemented in the area.

He interacted extensively with local residents and listened to their grievances and suggestions regarding infrastructure and public services.

Officials from various government departments presented detailed reports on the progress achieved under different welfare and developmental schemes.

The departments highlighted ongoing projects related to rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, drinking water supply, road connectivity, social welfare, agriculture, and livelihood generation.

Residents of Hajitra appreciated the government’s efforts to reach out to people living in remote border villages but also highlighted several pressing issues affecting their daily lives.

Villagers raised concerns regarding the condition of roads, irregular drinking water supply, healthcare facilities, shortage of medical staff, educational infrastructure, electricity-related issues, and the need for improved communication and transport facilities.

Many residents emphasized the importance of strengthening healthcare services in the region, especially considering the geographical challenges and harsh weather conditions that often make access to medical care difficult. Others stressed the need for better road connectivity to ensure smoother transportation and easier access to essential services.

Addressing the gathering, officials assured the public that all genuine concerns and demands would be examined on priority and forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate action. They reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring that developmental benefits reach every household in the border villages.

The Vibrant Village Programme has been launched with the objective of transforming remote border villages into self-reliant and prosperous communities by enhancing infrastructure, promoting livelihood opportunities, and improving the delivery of public services. The initiative seeks to reduce regional disparities and ensure balanced development in strategically important border regions.

The outreach programme concluded with an interactive session where residents directly engaged with officials and shared their expectations for future development.

The event reflected the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, participatory governance, and the overall welfare of people residing in border areas of Karnah.

Local residents expressed hope that the issues highlighted during the programme would receive timely attention and lead to tangible improvements in the living conditions of the people of Hajitra and surrounding villages. (JKNS)
