Kupwara, Dec 8: District administration Kupwara on Tuesday put two employees under suspension for ‘violating’ Model Code of Conduct, enforced in view of ongoing District Development Council elections.
The Addittional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has ordered for suspension of both the employees till further enquiries.
An order copy regarding the suspension of a Beat Guard (Forest Guard), of which a copy lies with, news agency reads that “allegations have been levelled against Khursheed Ahmad Khan Beat Guard (Forest Guard) posted at Daroosa Beat regarding participation in election related activities.”
The involvement of the official in election campaigning, as maintained by the order, is clear violation of Model Code of Conduct which deserves punitive action as warranted under law.
“Keeping in view of above (allegations) Shri Khursheed Ahmad Beat Guard (Forest Guard) at Dorusa is hereby placed under suspension and is attached with DFO Social Forestry Kupwara with immediate effect who shall conduct the enquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed report to the office within 15 days”, the order reads further.
Another complaint received by the office, as maintained by a separate order, of which a copy lies with news agency, reads that Mohammed Shafi War, working in Health Department as Junior Health Inspector ‘is involved for campaigning DDC and Panchayat Bye-election.’
“The involvement of the said official in election campaigning is clear violation of Model Code of Conduct which deserves punitive action as warranted under law.”
“Keeping in view of above (allegations) Mohammed Shafi War is hereby placed under suspension and is attached with District Tuberclosis Officer Kupwara with immediate effect who shall conduct the enquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed report to the office within 15 days”, the order reads further.
