Leh, July 15 (JKNS): The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Regional Office Delhi, on Wednesday organised a Consumer Outreach Programme on tariff and billing in telecom and broadcasting services at the Headquarters of Chief Engineer (CE) Project Himank, Choglamsar, Leh, to enhance consumer awareness on telecom regulations, digital safety and service quality.
As per news agency JKNS, TRAI, Regional Office Delhi, today organised a Consumer Outreach Programme on Tariff and Billing in Telecom and Broadcasting Services at the Headquarters of Chief Engineer (CE) Project Himank, Choglamsar, Leh.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives of telecom service providers, defence personnel of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and their family members.
During the programme, Shri Rajesh Tripathi, Joint Advisor, TRAI, Shri Sushil Kumar Bansal, Senior Research Officer, and Shri Suresh K. V., along with representatives from Airtel, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Reliance Jio, delivered technical sessions on consumer protection, tariff and billing-related provisions in telecom and broadcasting services. The sessions focused on creating greater awareness among consumers about their rights and the regulatory framework governing these services.
Inspector Shamim of the Ladakh Police also delivered an informative session on cyber hygiene, highlighting safe digital practices and measures to safeguard against cyber threats.
The programme also featured demonstrations and awareness sessions on the TRAI DND App, TRAI MySpeed App, Digital Connectivity Rating of Buildings and the PM-WANI initiative. Participants were encouraged to make use of these digital platforms to enhance their telecom service experience and contribute to improving service quality.
Many participants downloaded the TRAI DND App during the programme, reaffirming their commitment to adopting proactive measures against Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC). (JKNS)
