Srinagar, July 20 (JKNS): At least two persons were killed and several others sustained injuries after shooting stones struck a passenger bus and a few other vehicles at Raggi Nallah along the National Highway in Doda district on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the incident took place amid continuous shooting stones and mudslides triggered by heavy rainfall in the area.
They said two persons lost their lives in the incident, while several others were injured and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The identities of the deceased and injured were not immediately known, officials said.
Meanwhile, the National Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to continuous mudslides and shooting stones at the affected stretch.
Officials said restoration work has been launched, but it is likely to take some time before traffic movement is restored. (JKNS)
