Srinagar, July 21 (JKNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Tuesday said the entire administrative machinery across the Kashmir Valley has been placed on high alert in view of the prevailing weather conditions, with all departments directed to remain vigilant and 24×7 control rooms activated to monitor the situation and respond to emergencies.

Speaking to reporters, as per news agency JKNS, Div Com Garg said district administrations, disaster management authorities, emergency services and other line departments have been instructed to maintain close coordination to minimise the impact of adverse weather and ensure protection of life and property.

He said every government department has been directed to remain fully prepared to deal with any weather-related eventuality, while field officers have been asked to maintain constant monitoring of vulnerable areas.

Referring to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, he said all decisions regarding the movement of pilgrims and conduct of the pilgrimage will be taken strictly in accordance with weather advisories issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“The safety and well-being of pilgrims remains our highest priority. Every decision regarding the Yatra will be based on the prevailing weather conditions and official IMD forecasts,” he said.

The Divisional Commissioner also appealed to the public and pilgrims to strictly follow official advisories and avoid paying heed to rumours, assuring that the administration is continuously monitoring the situation and will issue timely updates whenever required. (JKNS)
