Srinagar, July 21 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo, on Tuesday announced that Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has been granted approval for 50 additional MBBS seats, increasing its annual intake capacity from 100 to 150 seats.

Sharing the development, Minister Sakina Itoo, as per news agency JKNS, said the approval comes after the successful enhancement of MBBS seats at Government Medical College Jammu and Government Medical College Srinagar.

She said the increase in seats at GMC Rajouri marks another significant step towards strengthening medical education infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir and creating more opportunities for aspiring doctors.

The Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the government remains committed to expanding access to quality medical education and building a stronger and more accessible healthcare system across the Union Territory.

She described the enhancement of MBBS seats as part of the government’s sustained efforts to improve healthcare services by producing more qualified medical professionals for Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
