Srinagar, July 22 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday strongly condemned the terror attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district in which Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was martyred, asserting that the “cowardly attack” would not go unpunished.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor, as per news agency JKNS, said he spoke with Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat to review the security situation following the attack.
LG Sinha expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the martyred police personnel.
“My heartfelt condolences to the family of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who sacrificed his life in the line of duty. The whole country stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the family of the martyr,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor said the attack was a heinous act and assured that those behind it would be brought to justice.
“I strongly condemn this cowardly attack. This heinous act will not go unpunished. J&K Police and our security forces are on the ground and will bring those responsible to justice,” LG Sinha said. (JKNS)
