Uri, July 24(JKNS): In a major boost to emergency healthcare services in border areas, Naam Foundation and Nirmala Gajanan Foundation on Friday donated two ambulances to the Civil Administration at Uri. The initiative was facilitated through the coordination of the Indian Army.

The ambulances were formally handed over by Mr. Mazoor, representing Naam Foundation and Nirmala Gajanan Foundation, to SDM Uri, Prince Kumar, in the presence of Army officials from Uri and the BMO, Uri.

The donated ambulances will be deployed for civilian medical emergencies, disaster response, and to improve access to timely healthcare for residents of remote and border villages.

Speaking on the occasion, a spokesperson for Naam Foundation said that access to healthcare is a basic right and expressed hope that the ambulances would help save lives by reducing delays in medical assistance. The foundation also acknowledged the Indian Army’s support in facilitating the initiative.

The Civil Administration appreciated the contribution of both foundations and the Indian Army, assuring that the ambulances would be utilized effectively for the welfare of the public.

The event was attended by Commander Kalapahar Brigade, Brigadier Nithin Kuttapa, and the Commanding Officer of Kaathi Battalion, along with senior civil and health officials. (JKNS)
