Budgam, July 25 (JKNS): The SANKALP, Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), Mission Shakti, Budgam on Saturday organised an Awareness and Sensitisation Programme for members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) at Huroo, Budgam, under the theme “From Savings to Self-Reliance: Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion.”

The programme aimed to raise awareness about women’s empowerment, gender equality, legal rights of women, financial inclusion, and various welfare schemes being implemented under Mission Shakti. It also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and economic independence for women.

Resource persons sensitised the participants about government initiatives designed to strengthen women’s socio-economic status and encouraged them to make full use of the benefits available under different schemes.

A special session was devoted to Mission YUVA, during which SHG members were provided detailed information about livelihood generation opportunities, entrepreneurship development, and financial assistance available under the scheme. Participants were encouraged to explore self-employment and small business ventures to achieve long-term financial stability and self-reliance.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from SHG members, who actively interacted with the resource persons and sought information on various government initiatives. They were encouraged to share the knowledge gained during the programme within their communities to enhance awareness and ensure wider outreach of women-centric schemes.

The organisers reiterated their commitment to empowering women through awareness, skill development, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion, thereby contributing to the vision of building an inclusive, self-reliant, and economically empowered society. (JKNS)
