Srinagar, July 29 (JKNS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday congratulated Indian weightlifter Harjinder Kaur for winning the silver medal in the Women’s 69kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026, hailing her remarkable dedication and sporting excellence.

In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, Rajnath Singh said Harjinder Kaur’s outstanding performance has added another medal to India’s tally and brought pride to the nation.

“Yet another medal for India in Weightlifting! Proud of Harjinder Kaur for winning Silver in the Women’s Weightlifting 69kg event at Commonwealth Games 2026. She personifies excellence and remarkable commitment to sports,” Rajnath Singh said.

The Defence Minister congratulated the medal-winning weightlifter and extended his best wishes for her future sporting journey.

“Congratulations to her! Wishing her the very best for the endeavours ahead,” Rajnath Singh added. (JKNS)
