TLSC Beerwah Organizes Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at GHSS Beerwah

Beerwah, July 29 (JKNS): The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Beerwah on Wednesday organized an awareness programme on drug abuse and anti-drug activities at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Beerwah with the aim of educating students about the harmful effects of narcotic substances and promoting a drug-free society.

The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and members of the legal fraternity. Panel Lawyer Advocate Naseer Ahmad Khan addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing threat of drug abuse among youth.

 

In his speech, Advocate Naseer Ahmad Khan emphasized that drug addiction is a serious social menace that adversely affects the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals.

 

He said that substance abuse not only destroys the future of young people but also causes immense suffering to families and society at large.

 

He urged students to stay away from drugs, avoid bad company, and focus on education, discipline, and positive activities.

 

He also explained the legal consequences of drug-related offences and stressed the importance of community participation in combating the drug menace.

 

Advocate Khan called upon the students to act as ambassadors of awareness in their respective communities and help spread the message of a drug-free society.

 

He encouraged them to seek guidance from parents, teachers, and counselors whenever faced with challenges or peer pressure.

 

The programme concluded with an interactive session during which students were encouraged to take a pledge against drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthy, safe, and prosperous society.

 

The participants appreciated the initiative of TLSC Beerwah and emphasized the need for conducting such awareness programmes regularly in educational institutions to safeguard the younger generation from the dangers of drug addiction. (JKNS)
