J&K Police Also Secures Proclamation Proceedings Against Top Pakistan-Based Lashkar Operative Mohd Qasim
Srinagar, July 30 (JKNS): In a major crackdown on Pakistan-based terror networks, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has ordered the attachment of immovable properties belonging to five notorious terrorists currently operating from Pakistan.
J&K Police has also secured proclamation proceedings against top Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Mohammad Qasim, officials said on Thursday.
Details available with news agency JKNS stated that DGP Nalin Prabhat ordered the attachment of properties belonging to the five Pakistan-based terrorists. Besides, J&K Police has secured proclamation proceedings against Mohammad Qasim, a top Lashkar operative currently operating from Pakistan. His property had already been attached in March 2026.
According to an order issued by Police Headquarters, Srinagar, accessed by news agency JKNS, the action has been taken in FIR No. 70/2024 registered at Police Station Mahore under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Explosive and Inflammable Material Control Act, and Sections 13, 18, 20 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The investigation revealed that several terrorists, who had exfiltrated to Pakistan between 1991 and 2003, are currently operating from across the border and are allegedly involved in supplying arms, ammunition and funds, besides radicalising local youth to revive terrorism in the Mahore and Chassana areas of Reasi district.
During the investigation, police identified five Pakistan-based terrorists whose landed properties were allegedly being sold to generate funds for terrorist activities.
The attached properties belong to Alaf Din, son of Mir Baz of Shajroo; Ghulam Mohammad alias Gamma, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Shajroo; Mohammad Ashraf, son of Abdul Karim of Chakrass (Mulass); Shabir Ahmad, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Chakrass (Jamaslan); and Bhar Din, son of Abdul Sattar Chopan of Sildhar.
Police said the properties were identified as “proceeds of terrorism” under Section 2(g) of the UAPA and were accordingly attached after obtaining prior approval from the DGP under Section 25 of the Act.
Officials further said that proclamation proceedings have also been secured against Mohammad Qasim as part of the ongoing legal action against Pakistan-based terrorists and their support networks.
The DGP directed that the attachment proceedings be executed strictly in accordance with law as part of the sustained efforts to dismantle the financial ecosystem supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
