Srinagar, Aug 4 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent terror attack in South Kashmir, saying no religion permits the killing of innocent people and asserting that such incidents should never have taken place.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the J&K Open 2026 (PGTI) at the Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar, Omar Abdullah, as per news agency JKNS, said the killing of innocent civilians deserves the strongest condemnation.

“The people who were killed were innocent. It is a very sad incident and it should never have happened. No religion allows the killing of innocent people. No matter how strongly such acts are condemned, words will always fall short,” the Chief Minister said.

He said the responsibility now lies with the security agencies to ensure such attacks are prevented in future.

“The people responsible for maintaining security are expected to ensure that such attacks do not happen again,” CMOmar added. (JKNS)
