Anantnag, Aug 6 (JKNS): A two-storey residential house was partially damaged after a fire broke out in Pushwara area of Khanbal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.

Officials told the news agency JKNS that the fire erupted in the combined residential house of Nazir Ahmad Waloo, son of Abdul Salam Waloo, and his brothers-in-law Abdul Gani Waloo and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Waloo, all residents of Pushwara, Khanbal.

They said fire tenders, assisted by local residents, rushed to the spot and successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further.

Officials said no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident, while the residential house suffered partial damage.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was caused by a short circuit, officials added. (JKNS)
