Kupwara, Aug 11 (JKNS): A vibrant spirit of patriotism and national pride swept through the iconic Vibrant Village of Teetwal in Karnah on Monday as a grand Mega Tiranga Rally was organised under the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17, 2026.
The mega rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students, ex-servicemen, Lumberdars, government officials, teachers and local residents, who came together to celebrate the honour and dignity of the National Flag and reinforce the message of unity and national solidarity.
The rally was jointly flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and SSP Kupwara Tahir Gilani from Higher Secondary School Gundi Shart. Carrying the Tricolour with pride, the participants marched towards Teetwal Ground, creating a strong atmosphere of patriotism and national pride along the route.
Students from various educational institutions participated in large numbers, holding the Tricolour and raising patriotic sentiments. Their participation reflected the enthusiasm of the younger generation towards the nation and highlighted the importance of inculcating constitutional values, national unity and respect for the National Flag among students.
The rally also brought together different sections of society, including ex-servicemen, local representatives and residents, thereby providing a common platform to celebrate the spirit of “Har Ghar Tiranga.”
At the culmination of the rally at Teetwal Ground, participating school clusters were felicitated with Certificates of Appreciation by the District Administration Kupwara in recognition of their enthusiastic participation and contribution towards the successful conduct of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse appreciated the overwhelming participation of students, officials and residents and urged people to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.
He emphasised that the campaign is aimed at strengthening the emotional connect of citizens with the National Flag and encouraging people to hoist the Tricolour at their homes. He called upon the public to celebrate the campaign with a sense of pride, responsibility and respect for the National Flag.
The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of the Sub-Divisional Administration Karnah and all participating departments for ensuring effective coordination and public participation in the mega event.
The Sub-Divisional Administration Karnah has been conducting a series of activities under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign to generate awareness and encourage greater public participation. The Mega Tiranga Rally was coordinated under the supervision of SDM Karnah Mohd Raiyaz, who was designated as the Nodal Officer for the event.
The presence and active participation of senior officers further added significance to the occasion. ACD Kupwara, ACP Kupwara, sector officers and officials from various departments attended the programme and extended their support towards the successful conduct of the rally.
The event at Teetwal, a prominent Vibrant Village located along the Line of Control, carried special significance as people from different sections of the community came together to showcase their commitment to the ideals of unity, national integrity and patriotism.
The programme concluded with all participants reaffirming their commitment to uphold the dignity and honour of the Tricolour and carry forward the message of unity, pride, patriotism and national responsibility in their respective communities.
The Mega Tiranga Rally thus emerged as a powerful public expression of national pride, with the Tricolour serving as a symbol of unity and collective commitment towards the nation. (JKNS)
