Kupwara, Aug 13 (JKNS): A grand Mega Tiranga Rally was held from Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Tarathpora to the Tehsil Office Tarathpora, witnessing an impressive display of patriotism, unity and national pride ahead of Independence Day.
The rally brought together around 600 students, including boys and girls, from different schools across Tarathpora Tehsil.
Teachers, civil society members, transporters, traders and local residents also participated enthusiastically, making the event a powerful expression of collective national spirit.
The Indian Army, Villgam, extended its support and participated in the patriotic programme, further strengthening the message of unity, discipline and service to the nation.
The rally commenced from BHSS Tarathpora and proceeded towards the Tehsil Headquarters, with students and participants carrying the Tricolour with pride and raising patriotic slogans.
The colourful procession reverberated with messages of unity, peace, brotherhood and patriotism as the participants marched together in the spirit of Independence Day.
The programme was organised with the objective of instilling patriotism among students and strengthening the spirit of unity and national responsibility within the wider community.
The rally was held under the leadership of Principal BHSS Tarathpora, Mr. Abdul Rashid War, while Mr. Irshad Rashid Mir conducted the proceedings and anchoring, adding energy and patriotic fervour to the programme.
The event was attended by Tehsildar Tarathpora Mr.Sheikh Ajaz, President Sumo Association along with transporters, Traders Headmaster GHS Tarathpora, Principal VIE Tarathpora, Principal Sunshine School, teachers and other prominent members of civil society.

A significant part of the programme was the remembrance of India’s great freedom fighters and national heroes.
Participants recalled the sacrifices and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rani Lakshmibai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and countless other known and unknown heroes who played a role in India’s freedom struggle.
Speakers highlighted that the Tiranga represents India’s freedom, dignity, unity, integrity and sovereignty.
Students were encouraged to carry forward the values of discipline, responsibility, brotherhood and patriotism and to contribute positively towards the progress of the nation.
The impressive participation of students and people from different sections of society transformed the rally into a vibrant celebration of the national spirit, sending a strong message of unity and patriotism from Tarathpora ahead of the 15th August celebrations.
The Mega Tiranga Rally concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation and to keep the Tricolour flying high with honour and pride.
