Srinagar, Aug 17 (JKNS): Fear has intensified among residents of Khonmoh on the outskirts of Srinagar after a 30-year-old man was injured in a bear attack on Monday, marking the third such incident reported in the area within the past 24 hours.
An official told news agency JKNS that the man was attacked by a bear in Sarhandi Colony, Khonmoh, and sustained injuries in the incident.
The injured was identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat (30), son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, a resident of Sarhandi Colony, Khonmoh.
Following the attack, he was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, where his condition is stated to be stable.
The latest incident comes after two separate bear attacks reported in Khonmoh within the past 24 hours one involving a man earlier on Monday morning and another involving a 57-year-old woman on Sunday.
The repeated attacks have sparked concern among residents, with calls for immediate measures to prevent further human-wildlife conflict in the area. (JKNS)
