Elderly woman sets herself ablaze in Budgam village, hospitalised

Budgam, 15 Dec   : A 60-year-old woman Tuesday sustained severe burns after allegedly attempting suicide by setting herself ablaze in Soibugh area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official told the news agency—  that the elderly woman, a resident of Soibugh today afternoon allegedly set herself ablaze at her home.

He said that soon after the incident she was immediately taken to a nearby health facility from where she was referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

The official said that police have initiated investigations in this regard to ascertain the facts as to why she took this extreme step—(
