Srinagar, Aug 28 (JKNS): Today, on 28-08-2026, the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm in the premises of 10th Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Srinagar.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Deepak Singh, Commandant, Shri Dalbir Singh, Second-in-Command other officers of the Battalion and force personnel were present.
The program was organised with collaboration with Junaid Syed, Saving The Future (NGO), Muntaha Baba, Social Activist, and Mrs. Haripriya Raina, Child Psychologist and 30 girls of Khalsa Higher Secondary School who tied Rakhis on the wrists of the Jawans of 10th Battalion.
Specially, beautiful and attractive Rakhis made and sent by Thakur Bhagwani Devi Musafir Public School, Naigaon, Mumbai were tied on the wrists of the Jawans, which symbolizes love, respect and an unbreakable bond towards the Jawans from different corners of the country.
The students prayed for the long life, safety and service to the nation of the Jawans. The Jawans also expressed their gratitude to all the sisters, promising to protect them.
The tying of Rakhi by the school students made the Jawans feel as if they were celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan with their families at home.
On this occasion, Deepak Singh, Commandant, addressed that Raksha Bandhan is not just a festival of brother and sister, but it is also a symbol of unity and social harmony of the country.
He thanked Vice Principal of Khalsa School, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur and the students, and Principal of Thakur Bhagwani Devi Musafir Public School, Mumbai, Mrs. Savita Kukreti for this noble initiative and extended his heartfelt greetings of Raksha Bandhan to all.
At the end of the program, sweets were distributed to everyone and the program concluded with the slogan of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. (JKNS)
