Srinagar, Sept 4 (JKNS): An IndiGo flight operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being positioned for parking at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, officials said.
The Srinagar Airport Authority said in a statement issued to news agency JKNS that IndiGo flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG) was being positioned at Bay No. 06 at around 0902 hours when the aircraft came into contact with the VDGS pole during the parking process.
“All passengers and crew members are safe, and no injuries have been reported,” the airport authority said, adding that the passengers and crew were safely deboarded using manual aircraft stairs.
The authority said the details and circumstances surrounding the incident will be examined by the appropriate authorities as per prescribed procedures.
“The exact cause will be ascertained following completion of the inquiry, and no conclusion regarding the cause is being drawn at this stage,” it said.
Meanwhile, airport operations remain normal, with flight arrivals and departures continuing as per schedule, the authority added. (JKNS)
