Jammu, Sept 6: Some former JKCA officials facing allegations of financial irregularities and misconduct are now allegedly attempting to defame the Association and harass its present office-bearers.

They have been accused of taking crores in loans from JKCA and failing to repay them, while some allegedly received salaries from multiple sources. There are also allegations that certificates bearing identical dates were issued to their children and subsequently used for obtaining medical qualifications.

A former police officer is also among those facing allegations of having drawn remuneration from both the Police Department and JKCA, an issue that warrants examination of the relevant official records.

Former cricketers have questioned the manner in which the alleged crores-worth scam has been raised, stating that records available to them show around Rs 140 crore was actually received by JKCA during the relevant sub-committee period. They have also questioned attempts to link BCCI President Mithun Manhas, saying he was not a signatory to the transactions.

They have also sought clarification regarding the role of former committee member Sunil Sethi, whose name, has not been mentioned. Cricketers and former officials have sought detailed investigations by the ED and CBI into the alleged financial irregularities, loans, salaries and certificates.

They have alleged that the campaign is aimed at discrediting the present JKCA administration at a time when J&K cricket is witnessing unprecedented success, including strong domestic performances, international representation and J&K players making their mark in the IPL.
