Srinagar, Sep 18 (JKNS): Chairperson J&K Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Friday formally took over the administrative and management control of the revered Dargah-e-Faiz Panah Mir Syed Taj-ud-Din Hamdani (RA) at Nowhatta, Srinagar, on behalf of the Waqf Board.

As per news agency JKNS, Andrabi visited the revered Dargah-e-Faiz Panah Mir Syed Taj-ud-Din Hamdani (RA) at Nowhatta, Srinagar, paid obeisance at the shrine and formally took over its administrative and management control on behalf of the J&K Waqf Board.

Dr Andrabi was accompanied by Waqf Board Member Mohammad Syed Haqqani, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Magistrate & Tehsildar of J&K Waqf Board, and other senior officers of the Board. It is pertinent to mention that the shrine is a Waqf property duly notified by the Government.

With the formal assumption of administrative and management control, the Dargah has now been brought under the direct management of the J&K Waqf Board as a dedicated spiritual and public-faith space.

After taking over the management, Dr Andrabi conducted a detailed assessment of the existing infrastructure and reviewed the arrangements for devotees and visitors.

She directed the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive plan for upgrading the shrine, improving basic amenities and strengthening the overall management system.

Dr Andrabi stressed that all Waqf-managed shrines and religious places must provide a dignified, clean, accessible and spiritually conducive environment for devotees.

She called for focused attention towards infrastructure development, cleanliness, sanitation, visitor facilities and preservation of the sanctity and heritage of the shrine.

“Our endeavour is to ensure that every Waqf shrine becomes a well-managed spiritual space where devotees receive better facilities while the religious and cultural legacy of these sacred places is preserved with utmost care. The Waqf Board will work systematically for the development and beautification of this historic shrine,” Dr Andrabi said.

The Waqf Chairperson also met public delegates and local representatives and interacted with them regarding the shrine’s management, infrastructure requirements, facilities for devotees and other issues concerning the local community. She assured them that their genuine concerns would be examined and addressed in a time-bound manner.

Dr Andrabi directed the officers to maintain close coordination with the local stakeholders and ensure that the development plan for the shrine reflects both the requirements of devotees and the historical and spiritual significance of the Dargah. (JKNS)
