Shopian: Mehreen Ashiq of Nowgam, Shopian, has brought another major sporting achievement to the district by securing a Gold Medal at the 10th Pencak Silat Federation Cup held in Leh, Ladakh.
With her impressive performance at the championship, Mehreen has also earned selection for the World Pencak Silat Championship, scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan in December 2026.
Mehreen has built an impressive medal-winning record over the past few years, representing Jammu and Kashmir at various national and regional competitions.
