Srinagar, Sept 25 (JKNS): National Conference MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani, on Friday raised the issue of a social media video in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and urged Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather to take action against media persons who, he alleged, were disrespecting elected representatives.
Raising the issue in the House, as per news agency JKNS, MLA Kalloo said a video of him was uploaded on social media a day earlier with a claim that he was giving gutka to another MLA.
He clarified that the substance shown in the video was not gutka and alleged that the description was intentionally added to portray the incident differently.
“Yesterday, my video was uploaded on social media showing that I was giving gutka to another MLA, but that was nothing, it was a chewing gum. They are disrespecting us,” he said.
Kalloo urged the Speaker to consider action against or restricting media persons whom he accused of disrespecting MLAs through such coverage. (JKNS)
