Ganderbal, Sept 26 (JKNS): Chairperson, Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Saturday inaugurated the Reconstruction/Upgradation Projects of the Ziyarats of Hazrat Syed Jaffar Sahib (RA), Hazrat Syed Abdul Rehman Sahib (RA) and Syed Hajah Sahiba at Rayil Gund, Kangan, Ganderbal.
The projects are aimed at improving the infrastructure and facilities at these important spiritual and religious sites and providing better amenities to devotees and visitors.
Waqf Board Members Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqqani and Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, along with Waqf Board officers Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and Chief Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, Er. Rehmat Ullah Bhat, Incharge Officer, Shrines, Er. Ghulam-e-Murtaza Shah, Assistant Engineer, Er. Mohammad Amir Assistant Engineer, Khursheed Ahmad Wani Administrator of the Shrine besides other officials and representatives, were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi emphasised the Waqf Board’s commitment to the preservation, reconstruction and systematic development of important religious and spiritual heritage sites across Jammu & Kashmir. She said that the upgradation of Ziyarats is not merely an infrastructure initiative but also an important step towards preserving the region’s rich spiritual heritage and facilitating devotees.
She said that the Board is working towards providing better facilities at religious places while ensuring that the sanctity, traditional character and spiritual significance of these sites are duly maintained.
Dr Andrabi also stressed the importance of collective efforts for preserving the rich legacy of the Awliya-e-Kashmir and ensuring that their message of spirituality, peace, compassion and human fraternity continues to inspire present and future generations.
The Waqf Board officials accompanying the Chairperson briefed her about the scope and various components of the reconstruction and upgradation projects.
The Chairperson directed the concerned officials to ensure quality execution and timely completion of the works.
The inauguration marks another step towards the systematic development and preservation of Waqf-managed religious and spiritual sites in Jammu & Kashmir. (JKNS)
