Deputy CM Choudhary says Assembly is “people’s House”, objects to BJP MLAs raising slogans against Chief Minister
Srinagar, Sept 28 (JKNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday objected to slogans raised by BJP MLAs and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Speaking in the Assembly, as per news agency JKNS, DyCM Choudhary said the House belongs to the people and maintained that such slogans amounted to a violation of the constitutional sanctity of the Assembly.
“It is the people’s House. The slogans raised by BJP MLAs and the Leader of Opposition against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are against the Constitution and amount to violation of the House,” Choudhary said.
He further demanded that the Leader of Opposition apologise on the floor of the House for the remarks and slogans raised against the Chief Minister. (JKNS)
