Srinagar, Sept 29 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday passed a Bill seeking to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Members’ Pension Act, 1984.
The Bill, L.A. Bill No. 15 of 2026, was moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister Incharge Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, for consideration and passage.
After the passage of the Bill, Omar Abdullah said, “I am happy to go home in smiling mode, as I was under pressure from home also, as I was a pensioner there.”
The legislation seeks to amend the existing law and provide for matters connected with or incidental thereto.
The Assembly subsequently passed the Bill. (JKNS)
