Kulgam, Sept 29: Kulgam Police on Monday conducted surprise inspections of medical shops falling under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Yaripora and Behibagh.
Officials said the drive was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with prescribed rules and regulations governing the sale and storage of medicines.
During the inspections, police teams checked the proper storage, handling and sale of medicines, with special focus on preventing the misuse, unauthorised sale and illegal distribution of pharmaceutical drugs.
The exercise is aimed at strengthening regulatory compliance, promoting responsible practices among chemists and safeguarding public health.
Police reiterated that strict vigilance will be maintained against violations and urged medical shop owners to adhere to all applicable norms and cooperate with authorities in maintaining public safety and preventing the misuse of medicines.
